ME Therapy

Mary Edwards MBACP

I am a counsellor based in Great Missenden, I work with both adults and children (aged 13 years and over) and have experience of a wide range of issues including anxiety, anger, depression, flashbacks, nightmares, self-harm, suicide ideation and low self-esteem. I also have a special interest in working with clients following a traumatic event, including where this has resulted in post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or complex post traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD).
As well as running ME Therapy, I am also the Counselling Coordinator for Aylesbury Vale and Milton Keynes Sexual Assault and Abuse Support Service. I have worked with survivors of sexual assault and abuse since 2018 and have specialist training in this area.
I am a caring and empathetic therapist and recognise that my clients are individuals therefore tailor my services accordingly. I work from a person centred foundation but call on other theoretical approaches such as Trauma Informed Practice and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to ensure clients get the most effective therapy for their circumstances.
I offer counselling either face to face in my garden therapy room based in Great Missenden which has parking or online counselling. I also offer a combination of face to face or online counselling to suit client needs
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within their code of ethics. For further information please go to www.bacp.co.uk.
